History
Santa Anna IT Research Institute AB was founded in 1999 as part of an initiative to merge the existing IT-related research institutes. The ambition was at the same time also to involve other strong research environments, such as Linköping, in the new Swedish IT Institute, SITI. Santa Anna was then established, owned jointly by SITI, a local association of companies and Linköping University. After a forming period for the new integrated ICT institute, spanning over several years, Santa Anna is now part of the SICS group of institutes within Swedish ICT Research, involving also Acreo, an institute in the area of electronics, optics and communication technology.
