Research focus
The objective of Santa Anna's research program is to develop world-class competence in selected areas of information technology and to demonstrate the applicability of these competencies in domains of particular importance for industry and the society. These ambitions involve the study and development of enabling software technologies and new IT-based services in the society from a human-centred perspective (consumer, citizen and user), with an emphasis on effective industrial development and maintenance of software-intensive products, everyday and home services for the citizen, and public sector services, all with a special concern for small and medium-sized enterprises. The research is organized in three application areas and three technology domains, interlinked to each other and coordinated with related activities in the other SICS institutes. The research is intended to produce market insights, business ideas, test beds and open-source software, and to develop theoretical insights combined with human-centred solutions for high quality in use, demonstrated by world-class scientific results and industrial applications.
